Friday Favourites

This post is dedicated to our 5 favourite things this week...

The first 5 are Sally's...

Coolest jeans around...just loving the stripes, and would look so cute with the red boots. After using this new miracle face cream and looking so good in the new outfit......dreaming of ending the day in this luxury bath with Johnny Depp.....is there any other way to go ladies....

Next up is Miss Hannah

I am loving these floral jeans from Topshop and my all time favourite studded shoes-cannot ever find them in my size though :( Really like listening to Lana Del Ray's new song whilst flicking through the pages of my new Marilyn Monroe book. Also very excited to watch the new episode of pretty little liars and getting closer to finding out who 'A' is!

And finally it's my (Buffy) favourites....

I'm in love with my new polka dot trousers, and in major nail growing mode so I have been painting my nails all week to fight temptation to bite them. Having had a lovely rest in Devon with family and after all our shopping I have come back a new me and started off with some light yoga this morning, and currently reading The Andy Warhol diaries!!

What have been the highlights of your week?? Please share all you Friday Favourites!!!

Sell, Sell, Sell...

So today one of my tasks, along with tweeting, putting items on Asos Marketplace and emailing lots of people, was to try and find another platform to sell our vintage clothing. So after trawling the web I finally (and thanks to twitter) found BONANZA. An online market place who's tag is...everything but the ordinary...what a perfect fit hey?!

After reading all the appropriate info and thinking to myself that it all looked quite simple I began the task of joining...all signed up and ready to sell...or so I thought. So after submitting picture, descriptions and having the wonderful job of converting all our prices into dollar's I thought I was ready to go...but still no items active....forums read and re-read and I'm still  no closer to an answer. Next step is to contact customer services...sadly my usual port of call. I think I'll give myself this evening to attempt to work it out and then I will accept defeat!!

Current status...pulling hair out!!

New Year's Resolutions!

I know it's a few days late but it has taken the team at All Things Vintage a little bit of time to get back to work and motivated again...plus we are always slightly behind...although we do try.

So here they are our collective New Year's Resolutions!!!

1.) Blog more often...try for a blog a day (already off to a winner- as this is my 2nd today...I am so good)
2.) Tweet like a little manic bird!! Relevant... Irrelevant...it doesn't matter
3.) Source more scummy vintage treats for all our lovely customers
4.) Research vintage inspired hand made crafts...the Victorian hat's may be as good as it gets...but we shall give it our all
5.) Expand our international market base

And here's a few that didn't make the list..but we feel are just as valid.

6.) Holiday more..at least 2 this year...we do get very tired
7.) Acquire a Pug by any means possible
8.) Maintain all efforts to meet Knight in shining armour...who just so happens to be a millionaire...and who breeds Pugs
9.) Hold it together whatever happens (hissy fits and tantrums at a minimum- there are 3 women working and living together...who just so happen to be related as well).
10.) Become so successful that nobody want's to talk to us.

What are your resolutions for the New Year?

And feel free to borrow No.7 here's a little picture to motivate us all.

Christmas Market in Hereford

With Christmas fast approaching us, so was our Christmas market in Hereford, and this was unlike any other we had done previously, as all the traders had to dress up in Victorian costumes. So rather than worry about our stock and how we would have our table laid out, the main focus was our costumes!

Brain storming away we first thought of dear old Oliver Twist, a scruffy little orphan boy...we felt that was within our creative abilities, however issues arose when trying to locate flat caps. Charity shops were trawled and raided and after days of searching we accepted defeat. Next idea...we would work with what nature gave us and be proper Ladies, Charity shops here we come...again. This time we were also on a tight time frame and so as three manic women hit the shops we were on a mission...feathers, flowers, lace and of course hat's, the check list was completed and  home we headed for the task of assembling the outfits.

High waisted skirts, ruffle shirts and hats- not so bad after all. With the outfits picked out and a few bits borrowed from our stock and enough room underneath each outfit for lots of layering it was time to make our hats! As we settled down to begin the building process...the night before of course.. we don't like to be too organised. We began. To our delight and surprise it was all coming along nicely, limited sewing was involved to all our glee, and the hats began to take life, we weren't sure if they were authentic Victorian style but we did our best and were all pretty proud and more importantly we actually enjoyed it.

The morning was upon us and on went the costumes hats and all and then it was off to Hereford. As we arrived decked out in full costumes we realised that everybody else had yet to put there's on and so then came the embarrassment, out in broad daylight, dressed in what can only be describe as a novices attempt at Victorian costume... we were exposed, embarrassed and tempted to retreat...but sadly we are adults and so hats and all we went forward and got on with task at hand.
The table was laid, fairy lights hung and looking very festive and colourful if I do say so myself our stall was done.
It was a lovely day in Hereford and we met lots of people and a we didn't completely freeze which over all we felt was a huge bonus and successful day, as we packed up for the day, ready to return the next we happily discussed our plans for improvements and with excited enthusiasm we headed home.

Outfits taken off and hung up, P.J's on and very large cups of tea drunk, we headed to bed in prep for another early morning. As the alarms went off 6am and we reluctantly stumbled out of bed and we took a look outside only to realise that we had in fact been snowed in and weren't going anywhere.

Our wonderful hat creations!!
